New Nursery Coming Soon...

We are currently embarking on an exciting new venture with the refurbishment and opening of a new nursery provision in Bexhill.  Our plan is to open a small bespoke setting in which we will base our services and expand on our current support and training opportunities.

We will be based in the former Birkdale Hall location in the Collington area of Bexhill and we plan to open in February 2012 following extensive refurbishment.

Please click here for further information about opening times and session fees and to complete an expression of interest form.

We are currently appealing for local parents to help shape the plans for the nursery.  It is our hope to have strong parental involvement and our first steps towards this will be the forming of a 'parent steering group'.  This group will consist of local parents who are interested in the nursery plans and would like to help make decisions relating to the nursery, for example opening times and resources.  We will be appealing for community support and involvement in the local press and display boards and ask that anyone interested contact Helen on 07563 754468 or email nursery@bbufa.org.uk for further details.

The 'Name the Nursery' competition is now closed – thank you for your interest and your entries.  The names have been shortlisted and a winner will be announced shortly.

Introducing  Holly Barnes,  FDA, BAPSLD, EYPS

Hello my name is Holly and although I do not live local to Bexhill, I live in the same little village of Hawkhurst that I grew up in which is a pretty part of the Kent countryside.

My back ground into the early years takes me back to my time at secondary school, I volunteered at a variety of local schools fostering my love to teach and learn.  Whilst I really enjoyed this it highlighted my desire to be involved with children’s learning from the very beginning.  After my statutory education I looked into early years in more depth nursery and preschools and the training and qualifications that go into this.

After completing my Foundation Stage Degree in Early Years I was still keen to learn more.   I was lead towards gaining my EYPS (Early Years Professional Status) and completing my degree and I was instantly excited.  About 15months later after hard work and determination I received the news that I had been awarded my EYPS (whilst teaching in Thailand!) and have never looked back.

Working with young children, parents / carers and other professionals is not just a job to me it is my love and passion rolled into one every day.

Being involved with children from the beginning is something I take great pride in and I feel a great sense of achievement when I can help children to grow and learn, encouraging and supporting those light bulb moments!

I am really delighted about joining BBUFA and embracing this new opportunity of opening and leading, what I am confident will be a fantastic new bespoke nursery.  I have spent 6 years at Parsonage Farm Day nursery and am keen to build on and use the experience I have gained from my time there.
